The flight from LaGuardia to D.C. went by super quickly. It was a 50 minute flight that I slept 40 minutes of. We got off the plane in D.C. with only 30 minutes to spare. We came across a 5 guys burgers right outside of the gate and I made an executive decision that we stop and eat. 3 cheeseburgers, fries, and some beers later we were running to catch our flight to Paris. The flight to Paris wasn’t bad despite being a seven hour flight. Thank god the plane had some good movies on board to help pass the time. Taken, Yes Man, and Mall Cop made time pass by quite quickly. We landed in Paris 6:40 A.M. which was a bit of a mind fuck being as we took off from New York at 5 P.M. Either we got super lucky or the metro system here is entirely too efficient. We had to take 3 different trains to get to the neighborhood our hostel was in. We had to wait no more than 3 seconds for each train, quite convenient if I do say so myself. We got to the hostel around 8 A.M. It was filled with kids which is a good sign for a good time to come. All hostels in Europe have a policy where they are on “lockdown” from 11a.m. - 4p.m. which is used as a mandatory cleaning time. It’s going to suck having to be up that early every morning, but whatever we’re in Paris. After we brought our luggage down into a safe room (it looked like a fall out shelter from the 1800’s), we had 8 hours to kill. We wondered around the past 6 hours and we’re sitting out in front of the Notre Dame. I’m beyond exhausted and we all haven’t slept a wink. No internet service so I’ll be posting this whenever I get around to it with pictures to follow.
