two great zines you should check out...

Text

Lifers is a zine based out of Canada. Two Montreal heads sharing their love for the music and the people that built the scene. They recently printed their second issue after their first issue was so widely appreciated and read. Interview’s with B’zrker , Reign Supreme, Cheap Thrills and Dave Boucher + Reviews, Articles & more! You can cop it @ their site.

The first issue of We Are The Underground is now availble through their webstore. The issue is in both color, and b&w, & it’s just really well done. Interviews with writers MBER, GSOUTH, and bands such as brick, bracewar, and foundation. Theres a how-to on making your own mop marker/ink, as well as some vegan recipes. A ton of graff flicks, and free stickers. They threw together a dope comp tape of a few Florida bands, that comes with a digital download for the lack of cassette players out there.

Since 1979 Clayton Patterson has dedicated his life to documenting the final era of raw creativity and lawlessness in New York City’s Lower East Side, a neighborhood famed for art, music and revolutionary minds. Traversing the outside edge he’s recorded a dark and colorful society, from drag to hardcore, heroin, homelessness, political chaos and ultimately gentrification. His odyssey from voyeur to provocateur reveals that it can take losing everything you love to find your own significance.

The video is now available to watch online for free.

The Rival Mob Live on WERS.

Text

Here’s what Last.Fm says about the mob;

The Rival Mob bring a style of hardcore back to Boston, MA that has almost become a distant memory. Playing at breakneck speed, the sound is reminiscent of old DC/NY hardcore bands meshed with big riffs that will stick in your head.

I say they’re a great band with an even better live show. If you don’t know by now, now you know. You can pickup there newest LP “Raw Life” on lockin’ out.

Here’s a great live set on WERS, check it out.
